Juliette Goglia is an actress/musician originally hailing from Burbank, California. Her latest single ‘February, is a catchy pop song with a rich heart at its core.
The single opens to the sound of Goglia’s stunning vocals from the get-go. Her extensive range is evident from the beginning and we were drawn into the song by her tone and delivery. Her strong American accent cuts through the mix and draws the listener’s ear in.
There are unusual chordal progressions to be heard and this helps to set ‘February’ apart from the crowd. There is a dreamy quality to the song which is further elevated by the harmonies on the chorus. The middle 8 hears a change in tempo and is a nice juxtaposition to what we have heard previously.
Goglia’s vocals are backed up by extraordinary musicians. The bass is mixed very loudly in the mix and is filled with melodies all of its own. However, it never encroaches upon Goglia’s part and always compliments and adds to the piece as a whole. The drums are also expertly played and offer further texture to the piece.
Goglia describes ‘February’ as “(A) track for anyone who is ready to move on from someone toxic. Someone who put their needs first, who never really cared but, this is not a victim’s song.” We felt that from the first listen and took the track as a closing of one chapter to the exciting beginning of a new one.
Having studied popular music at USC, Goglia is also a member of Postmodern Jukebox. Her fresh and exciting sound sets the scene for her much-anticipated debut EP which is set to be released in the near future.
So make sure you check out ‘February’ today, you will not be disappointed!
