Musician Lola Bates has released her brilliant latest song, ‘True’. It is a compelling and emotive single that showcases Bate’s many talents.
A beautifully picked acoustic guitar opens the song with atmospheric nature sounds in the background. A gorgeous slide guitar gives further emotion to the piece, and the original guitar adds the use of harmonics which builds further colour to the piece. The vocal performance is stunning with heartfelt lyrics. We found the vocals and guitars shine at the forefront of the mix. Blissful.
‘True’ has been mixed by grammy-winning engineer Robert Carranza. It was co-produced by composer Tyler Bates and Lola Bates. Also, it features guest drummer Gil Sharone (Marylin Manson, Stolen Babies) and pedal steel guitarist Michael Rozon. Together these creative talents have created a piece of art that is destined to stand the test of time.
Currently, Bates attends the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, where she studies songwriting and music business. She says about the release, “‘True’ is a song I wrote to express the truth I have come to know through the love and hate I’ve experienced in my life.”
The video which accompanies the single has been released today, 24th January 2020. It is directed and produced by LA-based film director Vicente Cordero and was shot in Tennessee’s Radnor Lake State Park, and at a studio session with Brown Owl Studios located in Nashville, TN. Check it out below!
