Brisbane based artist Sian Evans is celebrating ten years of city life & her debut LP by re-releasing the title track ‘The Definition Of’, on 22nd May 2020.
A staccato and intriguing guitar opens the release. Evan’s luscious vocals enter and effortlessly guides the track along. We love the double bass, adding its rich tone and colour. The string arrangement is truly beautiful and lifts the piece in a new direction. We found the chorus to be memorable too. This unique and innovating song will have you reaching for the repeat button. Evans says about the release, “It explores how we become and identify ourselves to our name, and how we embody time and space as this identity, evolving, ever-changing, forever shifting.”
Also, Evans has an impressive back catalogue of music that has seen her stack up many accolades. These include Finalist Queensland Music Awards 2018 for the track ‘Thorns’, Finalist Queensland music awards 2018 for the track ‘Womble East’, Highly commended Queensland Music Awards 2018 for the track ‘Beautiful Painful’, and ABC’s country Rotation 2018 for the track ‘Thorns’, and ‘Hound Dog’. She is a credible and recognised artist who is making waves in the Australian Americana scene.
Evans says “(My) musical journeys continue to traverse the continent, performing some of the country’s premier festivals.” She has supported the likes of CW Stoneking, Tim Rogers, Ash Grunwald, Toni Childs, to name a few. This talented singer-songwriter also has worked on and off stage or in-studio alongside some of Australia’s finest, with the likes of Tyrone Noonan (George), Paulie Bromley (The Beautiful Girls) & Bill Chambers & many more.
