Hannah Scott – ’98’
London based musician Hannah Scott has released the superb acoustic single ’98’. It is a song that has been taken from Scott’s much anticipted forthcoming album.
Firstly, Scott’s mesmerising vocals open the piece. They are filled with warmth and a compelling tone. We love the string arrangement which underpins the vocals. It is beautiful and captivating, creating extra colour within the piece. Secondly, a gorgeous piano and subtle percussion create texture within the piece too. Most importantly, all of this culminates in a beautifully composed and arranged piece of music.

Moreover, ’98’ has been co-written and produced with long-standing creative partner Stefano Della Casa (Ultra Music Publishing). Together, the duo has done an excellent job in creating a piece of art that will be making waves all summer long.
The duo say about the release, “The song recounts how at the age of 98, Hannah’s paternal Grandmother has made peace with her mortality. Not something many of us will get the chance to do. It is also a reminder that there is still a pleasure to be found in the small things as long as she is alive.”
The pair have been making waves for some time. They have been awarded funding by Help Musicians UK. This helped towards the production of the album. Also, Scott has supported Madeleine Peyroux at Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre. In addition, their music has been featured on BBC Radio 2. Including a live session with Dermot O’Leary, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, The Guardian, MOJO and Clash Magazine.
Our blog may be the first time you hear about Hannah Scott and Stefano Della Casa, but we are sure that it will not be the last. Above all, they will achieve big things in the future, and we look forward to hearing what they will do next.
