Pseudo Cool – ‘Modern Man’

Hailing from Maesteg, South Wales, Pseudo Cool is an alternative rock band whose latest release ‘Modern Man’ is making waves this summer 2020.

An attractive upbeat opening greets the listener. The driving, jangly guitars demand the listener’s attention instantly. We love the stoic drums, rhythmic bass and charming vocals which add their unique colour to the piece. The main melody is addictive, and ‘Modern Man’ will have the listener reaching for the repeat button.

Lyrically ‘Modern Man’ is intelligent and witty. This is a big part of Pseudo Cool’s charm. They are innovating garage-rock, keeping the integral spirit but adding their own flavour to the genre. Pseudo Cool is a band with a bright future, and we feel they are only just getting started.

The band say about the release, “‘Modern Man’ is a satirical critique of 21st-century masculinity in a burst of raw punk rock energy, or if you’re a man, possibly a celebration of it!” They continue, “The single was born from a simple question, ‘What’s for dinner?’ and quickly developed into a song about the frustrations and fascinations of a modern-day relationship.”

Cody Reynolds-Shaw

Having formed in 2019, Pseudo Cool are a group who are going places. ‘Modern Man’ was produced and mixed by Cody Reynolds-Shaw (Trenova Sound), and the team have done an excellent job in creating a single that is attractive, witty and thoroughly charming. Furthermore, the band plan to release five singles by the close of 2020, and we can not wait to hear them!

So make sure to add ‘Modern Man’ to your weekday playlist. It is a fun song that will please existing Pseudo Cool fans, while simultaneously win them an army of new ones too. Check it out from the link below.
