*Read Disclosure Here

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Areen and Im an independent musician and songwriter in Washington D.C. I have been married to my handsome and loving husband for about 4 years.

I have the most well behaved shitzus puppy named Bingo, who loves to join me at my studio. When Im not writing songs, I’m busy keeping the world safer by using my cyber analytical skills for the U.S. government.

What is your songwriting process?

Most of my songs are conceived with a melody in my head which could happen literally anytime or anywhere (sometimes in my dreams). Then I immediately record the melody and the idea on my phone, then process and magnify the original energy in my studio.

If I decide the song needs vocals, then I reach out to a pool of talented vocalists. I also give the utmost attention to mixing and mastering therefore, I work with some of the best mixing and mastering engineers who have worked with some of the biggest EDM producers. I alway make this process fun and an opportunity to meet and collaborate with talented people from all over the world.

Tell us about your latest release?

‘Brand new day’ is what I call an ‘Avicii style’ EDM/POP song with an optimistic, unifying and inspiring message. It was originally inspired by the current world events, the pandemic and the decisive rhetoric around the world.

The main message is that we are powerful when we are unified. With the powerful lyrics and vocals from my talented friend, Gabriel Kitzman (stage name GKAE) we wanted to bring hope and positive vibes to everyone.

What message do you think your music conveys to your fans?

Generally speaking, I want my fans and whoever enjoys my music to know that whatever they are going thru in life is for a reason and that if they accept and fully value themselves the universe will reward them with awesome things.

Coming from a situation where I was a minority in a third-world oppressive country, I had many elements working against me, my sexuality, my religion and my freedom, but everything changed for me once I stopped denying my true self and loved my life and myself.

Who are your musical influences?

I have been blessed with an awesome musical palate. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I was influenced by artists/bands such as Roxette, Oasis, Madonna, Avicii. My playlists include bluegrass, jazz, classic country songs to tropical EDM.

Who are your non-musical influences?

My parents, they always accepted and encouraged me and my love for music. My dad bought my first professional keyboard, which was probably more expensive than a month’s mortgage. Additionally, my husband is the reason why I elevated my songwriting and producing into more than just a hobby.

What’s the best gig that you have ever played?

I have played/DJ-ed at some of D.C’s biggest clubs. But one of the most memorable performance was at a Gay Pride outdoor afterparty with over a thousand people dancing to my songs.

What do you think are the biggest obstacles for bands/artists today?

Recognition and getting noticed. Also, being able to filter all the fake marketing and promotional music services. Knowing what works and what doesn’t takes a long time which is a huge challenge.

What advice would you give to other bands/artists starting out?

It will take at least a year or two, just to find your unique sound and path. Not everything you do or release will get a positive or good amount of feedback. Take any opportunity to work and collaborate with other artists; you will learn a lot.

Lastly, if yo do collaborate, allow the other artists present their creative flow and welcome it. At the end of the day, be nice to everyone you work with.

What are your hopes for the next two years?

To organically grow my fan base and listeners by more than a million folds, have sold out shows, have multiple easily recognizable hit songs.
