Lori Triplett – ‘Slow Poison’
Hailing from Nashville, musician Lori Triplett has released the superb EP ‘Slow Poison’ today, 16th October 2020. It is a luscious Americana release that needs to be heard!
‘Out the Back Door’ opens the EP and has a mysterious and intoxicating groove from the get-go. Triplett’s vocals are filled with a rich warmth. We found her tone to be sublime and effortlessly moves the listener.
We adore the title track. It features a gorgeously picked acoustic guitar, and again, Triplett’s vocals are captivating. We love the stripped back instrumentation which lets the song shine in the light in which it was written. The intelligent arrangement is superb too.
‘Things I’ll Never Be’ hits hard from the opening, the wonderful melody is memorable and fills the sonic spectrum. ‘Right Where You’re Supposed To Be’ closes the release and leaves the listener wanting more.
Triplett says about the EP, “‘Slow Poison’ is a mixed bag of stories, sounds, and personal yet very relatable experiences that are likely to somehow fall right into place in your life.”
She continues, “Each song speaks about the almost inevitable journeys we are all bound to take in life at some point or another, and how those journeys tend to shape us as individuals.” This is part of what will make ‘Slow Poison’ such a hit; it is relatable, and the tracks will resonate with its audience.
With two full-length albums, ‘Dawn’ (2004) and ‘Safe Place to Land’ (2009), as well as two singles ‘Crooked Heart’ (2017), and ‘Tennessee’ (2018), Triplett is an artist who goes from strength to strength. ‘Slow Poison’ is another brilliant release and adds to her strong and impressive back catalogue.
So make sure you add ‘Slow Poison’ to your playlist this week. We are so excited to have discovered Lori Triplett and very much look forward to hearing what she will do next.
