Andy Martin – ‘Living In The Heat Of It All’
Hailing from Brisbane, musician Andy Martin has released his superb debut EP ‘Living In The Heat Of It All’ in November 2020. It is an indie-rock release that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
‘My Hearts Not Beating In Time’ opens the release. A full rock sound soon engulfs its atmospheric opening. Martin’s energetic vocal performance is intoxicating and captivates the audience effortlesly.
We enjoyed ‘Time’; the opening drum break is filled with luscious reverb, instantly injecting colour into the piece. The layered guitars have a wonderful texture to them, and again Martin’s voice is thoroughly engaging.
‘Heat of it All’ is an upbeat song which will have the listener reaching for the repeat button. The main melody is intoxicating and stays with the listener long after the music has ended. ‘Let This Go Again’ closes the EP and leaves the listener wanting more!
One thing is for sure; Andy Martin is an exciting talent. He is a multi-instrumentalist and plays all of the instrumentation on the EP himself. We are sure that ‘Living In The Heat Of It All’ will win Martin an army of new fans.
‘Living In The Heat Of It All’ was recorded at Brisbane’s Airlock studios over the space of a year. In addition, Martin received funding from Arts Queensland to work on a mentorship with Brisbane’s Ian Haug (Powderfinger) and Deb Suckling (Sugarrush Music) to complete and release this debut EP. The team have done an excellent job in creating a piece of art that puts Andy Martin as an artist to watch in the 2020s.
So make sure you add ‘Living In The Heat Of It All’ to your weekday playlist. Andy Martin is an artist who is just beginning his career, and we very much look forward to hearing what he will do next.
