Third Girl From The Left – ‘Oxygen’
Out officially today, Third Girl From The Left has released the excellent EP ‘Oxygen’. It is a folk-pop EP with a big heart.
The title track opens the release and is instantly appealing from the get-go. We adore the vocal performance, which feels intimate and compelling. The layered backing instrumentation is filled with texture and gorgeous melodies.
‘Sylvan’ hears a shift in vibe, and this keeps the listener on their toes. We adore the mysterious nature of the single; it keeps the audience’s interest effortlessly.
‘Strange Times’ is a laid back track with wonderful and unpredictable chordal progressions. It has been intelligently composed and is our favourite song on the EP. ‘The Rising’ closes the release and leaves the listener reaching for the repeat button!
Third Girl From The Left says about the release, “I like to think Third Girl From The Left could grow into a collaborative umbrella for different musicians and visual artists.” She continues, “Over the last few months I’ve been remotely recording with drummer Ryan Halsey (Gravity Drive) and Katie Marie (bass), an ex-pat session musician now living in Austin, Texas.” Together, the team are making music that is innovative and driving. ‘Oxygen’ is a release which needs to be heard!
There is also a brilliant video which accompanies the EP. It features dancer and choreographer Nicky Burke. In addition, it was recorded on a kitchen worktop and edited during lock-down, and we thoroughly recommend checking it out from the link below.
So make sure you listen to ‘Oxygen’ this weekend. Third Girl From The Left is an exciting project, and we very much look forward to hearing what will come next. Until then, ‘Oxygen’ is available from the link below, check it out!
