Crux – ‘Save Me’

Newcastle upon Tyne-based band Crux has released the must-hear single ‘Save Me’. It is an alternative-rock release you need to know about this January 2023.

An atmospheric and engaging opening greets the listener. Brooding synths ring out, and a stoic beat underpins them. Then, as the full band enters, the listener finds themselves fully engaged.

We adore the driving melodies that fill the sonic spectrum with vivid colour. Also, the charismatic vocals enter and instantly take the reins of the song.

In addition, we love the thought-provoking lyrics that stay with the audience long after the music has ended. Also, the catchy melodies in the chorus are addictive and will have you reaching for the repeat button. ‘Save Me’ is an intelligently arranged song that needs to be heard!

Crux says about the release,” ‘Save Me’ is about how people in power have the authority to massively improve people’s lives and choose not to.” They continue, “We built on this by creating an ethereal sound by adding pounding organ chords, chanting vocal harmonies, and some transcendental guitar arpeggios.”

The Nave Studios

Interestingly the song was recorded at The Nave Studios in Leeds, which was once a church. So the band could utilise some natural reverberation to the piano, vocals and drum parts. Together the team have done a fantastic job in creating an inviting release that will stand the test of time.

Live Dates

Previously the band has headlined the Engine Room, The Globe, Little Buildings, HMV (Newcastle), and o2 Academy2 (Newcastle). Make sure you follow Crux’s social below to be the first to hear about future live dates.

We are thrilled to have heard ‘Save Me’ and can not wait to listen to what Crux will do next. One thing is for sure; Crux is a band destined for big things.
