Meadow Argus – ‘Dancing Through A Slow Apocalypse’
Hailing from Australia, musician Meadow Argus has released the must-hear EP ‘Dancing Through A Slow Apocalypse’. It is a seven-track release that you need to know about this January 2023.
‘Is That You?’ opens the release and sets the scene beautifully as to what is to come. We adore the driving instrumentation, intelligent arrangement and warm production.
In addition, ‘Sweetgrass’ is a standout song with a melodic bass, stoic rhythm section and soulful vocal performances. Also, ‘House Husband’ is fuelled by intriguing lyrics, textured instrumentation and gorgeous guitars.
Moreover, ‘Sleep’ features wonderful guitar playing and excellent story-telling, and it is a track that takes the EP in a fresh direction. Finally, ‘Dance With Me’ closes the release and will have you reaching for the repeat button.

Meadow Argus says about the release, “‘Dancing Through a Slow Apocalypse’ was written and recorded in 2021 as part of my music studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast.” He continues, “Here in Australia, we were all in various states of Covid disruption and lockdown. The songs on this EP address the very personal issues that we were all forced to face during this time.”
In addition, Meadow Argus cites his influences as coming from Kraftwerk, Eurythmics, Broadcast, The Church, Sonic Youth, and Johnny Cash. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Dancing Through A Slow Apocalypse’, but make no mistake; Meadow Argus is making music all of his own!
We are thrilled to have heard ‘Dancing Through A Slow Apocalypse’, and we can not wait to listen to what Meadow Argus will do next. He is a troubadour of the highest calibre and a multi-instrumentalist who needs to be heard!
