Ettu – ‘Anesthesia’ (feat. Vaughn)
‘Anesthesia’ is the brilliant latest release by Los Angeles-based artist Ettu. The indie-pop single features Vaughn and together the duo have created a release that is destined to be a hit this autumn 2020.
Gorgeous vocals open the release, they are filled with emotion, and the performance is sublime. We adore the backing instrumentation that stoically guides the single along. It is varied and layered, adding extra interest and intrigue to the piece.
The layered vocals add extra texture and colour to the song too. In addition, the melody in the chorus is memorable and stays with the listener long after the music has ended. The composition and arrangement of ‘Anesthesia’ are both intelligent, and Ettu is an artist who knows how to write a hit!
Ettu says about the release, “‘Anesthesia’ is a song about privilege, income inequality, emotional maturity, and the modern hit-it-and-quit-it aspect of gay dating where no one is good enough.”
He continues, “When the high-powered doctor he falls for begins medical school and starts climbing the social ladder, Vaughn is objectified as a fetish and left on ‘read’, sorting out his feelings alone.” Ettu is a gifted storyteller, and we are sure that ‘Anesthesia’ will please existing Ettu fans while simultaneously winning him an army of new ones too.
