Genevieve Sovereign – ‘It’s Yours.’

Melbourne-based musician Genevieve Sovereign has released the superb EP, ‘It’s Yours.’ in March 2022. It is an avant-garde release that you do not want to miss this Spring.

‘Savouring Today’ opens the release to an atmospheric beginning before Sovereign’s attention-demanding vocals take the song’s reins. We love the melodic bass and staccato keys. It is a fantastic song with a lot of heart.

‘We’ll Know Nothing Together’ is a stand out track, the instrumentation evolves as the song progresses, and there is a brightness and optimism to the music.

Finally, ‘I Reach’ closes the EP to gorgeous synths and addictive keys. It is a song that will have you reaching for the repeat button!

Sovereign says about the release, “I knew this would be a massive and eventful journey, and I was starting at the tiniest baby steps – just learning how to sing and write songs and use a DAW. But I knew too that progress would build faster than expected in many ways if I kept working hard.”

She continues, “So I began this vlog as a motivating way to stay keen and aware of my own growth. It’s been hugely valuable as a learning aid, and also as a series of time capsules.”
