Groan Room – ‘Get Off
Hailing from Salford, Groan Room is a new Alternative Rock band. Their debut single ‘Get Off’, is a thrilling and compelling listen that will strike a chord with indie music lovers.
‘Get Off’ opens with a laid back beginning from which a mighty song grows. In addition, the indie-rock instrumentation lays a solid foundation for the effecting vocals to spring from. We loved the lyrics which are poetic with a political message.Â
Furthermore, the overall laid back vibe of the single is intoxicating. It is staccato in places and textured with enticing guitars and a punchy rhythm section. This superb band reminds us of Pavement and the Pixies but make no mistake; they are making music all of their own.Â
About Groan Room
The band were formed in 2019 by two friends working at an independent record label in Salford. Having played in bands around the North West for many years, the two quickly plugged in other musicians & mates to complete the line-up. This magnificent single was recorded in March 2020, at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.Â
Songwriter, Ramin Bostan, describes the single as a “huge, anthemic tribute to our favourite Brit-pop, lo-fi and grunge bands from the 90s. The song is written about a very dear friend of mine who was going through a tough time, and I was imploring him to open up to us and address it, while also reminding him all of the things that make him wonderful and all of the people who love him.”Â
