Hi Blake, how did you first get into music?

I first got into music when I was three! I had piano lessons my parents got me into!

What is the first song that captured your attention as a youngster?

As a youngster, I used to LOVE screamo and metal music! I would say Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold were my favourite bands!

Who influenced your latest release, ‘Moodlighting’?

My boy HUBSTCY produced the track and sent it to me, and I immediately got inspired. Referenced a disclosure type feel with the soft falsetto vocals!

What motivates you to make music?

What’s motivating is knowing that I can vent and write about anything I want. Finding out I can also make money doing music is also an extra motivation because it does pay the bills!

If you could open for any artist/band, who would it be?

If I could open for any artist, it would most definitely be Frank Ocean, but even saying/thinking that is mind-blowing. He has been a huge idol of mine for years now.

What’s your favourite venue to play?

My favourite venue to play is actually in my living room when I throw these events called Last Friday at my house. The vibes are immaculate, and the company is phenomenal!

What are your other passions aside from music?

Passions aside from music, I would say philosophy & psychology. For some reason, I have always had a deep interest in peoples thoughts and ideas and how they came to them.

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about the music industry, it would be to get songwriters paid more! They do so much work and receive very little money or credit!

What is the best music advice you have ever been given?

The best advice I’ve been given in music is to not be afraid to play or say something stupid. There is no stupid ideas; anything can inspire the next hit song.

What new music are you listening to at the moment?

I love this band called Tora at the moment! Their new album “A Force Majeure” is awesome, and I have been listening on repeat!

What musical plans do you have for the next two years?

My musical plan for the next two years is just releasing a TON of music. I’ve waited a long time and stacked up a ton of tracks to be able to consistently put out music! Performing Coachella 2024 would be amazing!
