Jon & Abbie – ‘Marmalade’

‘Marmalade’ is the latest release by Oxford-based duo, Jon & Abbie. It is a folk-pop release that is making waves this winter 2020.

The single hits hard from the get-go. Jon’s soulful vocals and a gorgeous acoustic guitar fill the sonic spectrum. We adore the layered vocals and guitars which add extra texture to the single.

As the beat drops, the track is in full flow. There is a beautiful vibe to the song that captivates the audience. The ebb and flow in the instrumentation creates colour within the single. It pulls in and out taking the song in fresh directions, keeping the listener on their toes. ‘Marmalade’ is a classic indie-folk single in the making.

The band say about the release, “‘Marmalade’ is a retrospective of a relationship – a collection of snapshots about being in love and then ultimately what it’s like to fall out of it.”

‘Marmalade’ is the second single to be taken from the upcoming EP ‘Still Life’. After hearing ‘Marmalade’, we can not wait for the full EP to drop! With inspirations coming from artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes, and Father John Misty, Jon & Abbie are making music all of their own.

Pylon Heights/Maud

Jon Sandman (of Pylon Heights: synth-washed indie rock) and Abbie Loosemore (of Maud: post-rock shoegaze) are both excellent musicians. ‘Marmalade’ is a culmination of their talents, and we are so excited to hear them working together.

So make sure to add ‘Marmalade’ to your weekend playlist. Jon & Abbie are two formidable artists who need to be heard. ‘Marmalade’ is available to stream from the link below, we thoroughly recommend checking it out.

We look forward to hearing what will come next from this magnificent duo.
