Jonathan Karkar – ‘Adrenaline Rush’

Jonathan Karkar is a talented Producer, Composer, Songwriter, and Multi-Instrumentalist. His latest single, ‘Adrenaline Rush’ has been released today (14th February 2020), and it is a spellbinding release.

Keys and vocals hit the listener from the get-go. Karkar has a wonderful tone to his voice which is rich and inviting. The vocals have been heavily affected in delay and add new colours to the piece. Karkar’s impressive range is also on show, masterfully guiding the piece along.

We loved the hook in the bridge; it is infectious and lays solid foundations for the chorus, which has an even bigger hook that stays with the listener long after the music has finished. We loved the dance feel to the chorus with a driving beat and fuller instrumentation than the verses. The middle eight is simply delicious. It is a complete change in direction with an expertly played piano, giving a jazz feel before the beautiful chorus kicks back in at the end.

Karkar says, “‘(Adrenaline Rush) takes you through the cold of a mundane routine, to the heated thrill of a spontaneous adventure. A true Valentine’s Day fantasy, manifested in an audio track just less than 4 minutes.”

Karkar is a versatile and well-studied musician. He completed a degree in Music Composition from the University of Guelph, then studied the Barry Harris method in jazz harmony and improvisation at the Howard Rees Jazz Institution. Karkar is fluent in Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Saxophone, and says he prides himself on his comprehensive music theory knowledge.

So make sure you add ‘Adrenaline Rush’ to your weekend playlist. It needs to be heard to be fully appreciated!
