Jumbo Guitars Review

A jumbo guitar is the largest guitar in the acoustic’s family. Notorious for its versatile sound, they have HUGE dynamic ranges and balanced tones.

Jumbo guitars are a must-have studio instrument, and they will serve you well in live situations too.

A jumbo guitar’s proportions are most similar to a grand auditorium. If you are looking for a guitar that produces a deep sound with massive sustain, a jumbo guitar is the answer.

It is most often compared to a dreadnaught guitar because of the sweet sound it produces and is a beautiful addition to any guitarists collection.

Jumbo Guitar Vs Dreadnought

Dreadnought guitars are different to Jumbo in their shape. The famous dreadnought has a straighter body and not such a rounded shape.

Jumbo’s can be more comfortable to hold. Perfect for finger style and strumming, the Jumbo’s rounded shape and narrow waist makes them easier to hold and more enjoyable to play.

In our experience, we have found that Jumbo’s have a rounder, more balanced sound while Dreadnoughts can be a little bass heavy. They are about as loud as one another as the body capacities are similar.
