Maria Pellicano – ‘Cover Me’

Melbourne-based artist Maria Pellicano has released her superb folk-pop single ‘Cover Me’ today, 4th March 2022. It is an emotional and reflective song that needs to be added to your new music playlist this weekend!

From an atmospheric opening, Pellicano’s soulful vocals breakthrough. She instantly takes the reins of the single and demands the listener’s attention.

We adore the duet between the piano and vocals. They gracefully dance around each other. Always complimenting the other’s performance. Then, as the full band kicks in, layers of vivid colour fill the sonic spectrum.

Pellicano says about the release, “When I wrote this song, it was an imagination process of looking at what I had, and wanting more.” She continues, “Wanting to believe that my back was not against the wall. Realising that the wall was not really there, and that I could go beyond that wall that I was feeling. ‘Cover Me’ was written in Covid-19 lockdowns and allowed me to find a sense of moving from restriction into freedom.”
