‘Melody’ is the latest single to released by Sheffield based singer/songwriter Luisa Reya. 

Reya has been writing songs for over a decade and ‘Melody’ is a beautifully crafted, warm hearted and belter of a track. The song has mellow beginnings with a sparse guitar and high hat opening followed by a staccato rhythm before building to Luisa Reya’s warm and welcoming vocal performance kicks in. It turns to an almost reggae rhythm as the song progresses before a brilliantly played and mixed guitar solo kicks in with the perfect amount of reverb.

‘Melody’ is song written about Reya’s daughter. The love, hope and being given the gift of purpose from having a child is evident from the eloquent lyrics and soulful vocal delivery. Reya’s vocal style reminds us of Emiliana Torrini and Fiona Apple in equal measure.

The song has been produced by Javier Barrios who has done a brilliant job of making Reya’s voice the deserving star with a back up of an extremely competent band. Not to forget the heartwarming video which accompanies ‘Melody’ a must see!
