Mermaid Avenue – ‘Embers Of Fires Gone’

Hailing from Australia, Mermaid Avenue has released the must-hear single ‘Embers Of Fires Gone’. It is an Americana release that will have you reaching for the repeat button this Spring.

A bright and attention-demanding opening greets the listener. As the gorgeous melodies ring out, the listener finds themselves enthralled. We adore the relatable lyrics that resonate with the audience.

In addition, the intelligent chordal progressions add further layers of intrigue to the piece. The instrumentation is filled with texture and fills the sonic spectrum with vivid colour.

Moreover, the chorus is catchy and feels like an old friend returning each time it comes back around. Embers Of Fires Gone’ needs to be added to your new music playlist this week!

Band Members

Mermaid Avenue is comprised of band members Pete Clarke (Guitar/Vocals); Mike Kearey (Lap Steel; Pedal Steel; Guitars/Vocals); Casey Chadwick (Keys/Vocals); Chris Wong (Guitars); Mark Egan (Bass/Vocals); Nathan Poetschka (Drums, Percussion/Vocals). They are clearly excellent musicians in their respective fields, but the magic happens when they play together.

Mermaid Avenue says about their music, “We don’t tend to write songs for a style or trend; it is not in our DNA. The music tends to focus on human relationships from all the angles, and the style of the song presents itself when we are finished.”

Steve Robin/Jason Millhouse

Embers Of Fires Gone’ was recorded at The Barn Studio by Steve Robin and subsequently mixed and mastered by Jason Millhouse of Recordworks. Together the team have done a superb job of creating a piece of art that allows Mermaid Avenue to stand apart from the crowd.

Embers Of Fires Gone’ is the latest single to be taken from the band’s third album. After hearing this superb release, we can not wait to check out their back catalogue too!
