Hi Gina, how did you first get into music?

Music honestly is a calling; I have felt the need to be a musician since I was at least four years old.

Who influenced your latest release, ‘Touch Down’?

My sister, husband, and different couples around the world….

What motivates you to make music?

The best way I can answer this question is that I hear finished/produced radio-ready tracks in my head. I do my utmost to reproduce what I hear in my mind. The music sounds so cool in my head, and I feel like “it would be so selfish to keep this music to myself. So my motivation is you. I want you to have the chance to enjoy the music too.

What’s the music scene like in Canada?

It’s a good scene. We like music in Canada Canada seems to like the Pop and Rock genres.

What is your biggest mistake in the music industry so far?

Listening to other people’s opinions, mistaking them for facts.

What are your other passions aside from music?

Music is the vehicle to the actual passion – seeing people happy together. Relationships! 🙂

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

Even though I totally respect it, I honestly wish they would broaden their mindset of what an artist can and can’t do or be.

What sets you apart from other artists?

Haha. I’m a Multi-Genre Artist. Last year I released five different albums in 5 different genres: Classical, Tropical Pop, EDM, Gospel, and Rock.

What is the best music advice you have ever been given?

It’s sad to say, but my atheist professor told me, “No one is going to help you.” So I have worked hard over the years. However, it’s only lately I see the true beauty of community. And you know, people do care if you give them something they can care about.

What new music are you listening to at the moment?

I have a lot of music, from symphonic to Hip-hop, in my head. I have a radio station of hundreds of yet unreleased material I “listen” to.

What musical plans do you have for the next two years?

To birth these albums, and I do have a few surprises… if you follow me at ginawilliams.com at the “Inner Circle”, you will find out firsthand what’s going on!
