Olly Lagemann, Katja Stock – ‘WEISS’

Musicians Olly Lagemann and Katja Stock have teamed up to release the stunning EP ‘WEISS’, in February 2022. It is a classic Rock EP that is filled with nostalgia and sentimentality.

‘Ein ganzes Leben’ opens the release to a punchy beat and staccato synths. We adore the vocals, which have a wonderful tone. As the instrumentation grows, the melodic hooks break through. It is a compelling song with a memorable chorus.

We adore ‘Steile Zeit’; it features a driving and magnetic beat from the get-go. We don’t speak German, and the EP is sung in German, but we still found ourselves utterly compelled. The melodies are infectious and stay with the listener long after the music has ended. ‘Nicht gehen’ closes the release and leaves the listener reaching for the repeat button!

Pete Draack

Lagemann and Stock have worked with producer Pete Draack on this great release. The team have carefully crafted an EP that nods to 1980’s rock while also bringing the much-loved sound into 2022. It is a release that will stand the test of time.

The duo states that ‘WEISS’ covers themes of cohesion, friendship and new beginnings. These themes come through when listening to the EP, and it is a release that will resonate with its audience. Lagemann and Stock know how to reach out and touch the listener, allowing us to feel less alone together.
