Tess Posner – ‘Something Told Me’
Hailing from San Francisco, musician Tess Posner has released the magnificent single ‘Something Told Me’, in January 2021.
An enticing opening greets the audience. Tess Posner’s characterful and soulful vocals fill the sonic spectrum and draw the listener in. We adore the funky bass line, which adds further colour to the piece.
The chorus keeps the single driving forward with textured horns and an energetic beat. The main melody is intoxicating and stays with the listener long after the music has ended.
In addition, there is a brilliant rise and fall in the instrumentation which weaves its way in and out of the track. ‘Something Told Me’ is a wonderfully composed and arranged song.
Posner says about the release, “‘Something Told Me’ is about trying to reclaim your freedom and innocence that you felt as a child, but lost as you got older.” She continues, “Recorded in San Francisco and produced by GEKKO, it brings together atmospheric synths and trumpets with soaring vocals that yearn for freedom and joy.’

GEKKO and Posner have created a single which firmly puts Tess Posner on the ‘Artists to Watch’ list in 2021. It is a spell-binding release that will stand the test of time.
Posner was booked to play SXSW in 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid, the event was cancelled but Posner continues to stream live shows from home. We sincerely hope when the festival is running again, Tess Posner will be first on their re-booking list!
