The Strayngers – ‘I Don’t Know, Episode 1’

Los Angeles based band, The Strayngers have released their excellent dream-pop EP ‘I Don’t Know, Episode 1’, in September 2020.

‘Comeback’ opens the release to an atmospheric guitar. The song builds slowly, and a catchy, melodic feel breaks through. We enjoyed ‘Small Stars’, the guitar-driven melodies are superb and intoxicating. The catchy chorus is memorable and stays with the listener after the music has ended.

‘Too Much’ is our favourite song on the EP. It is instantly enticing and draws the listeners attention in. The Strayngers know how to write a classic pop song. They are a must-hear band this autumn 2020.

The band say about their music, “The ethos behind The Strayngers is straying from society’s norms and escaping its predictable expectations.” They also state that they are, “Influenced by the greats from the British Invasion to New Wave to Post Punk to the current day.”

‘I Don’t Know, Episode 1’ has been mixed by Jorge Elbrecht (Wild Nothing, Alvvays) and Mastered by Joe Carra (King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Pond). Together, the team have done a fantastic job in creating a piece of art that is mesmerising and will stand the test of time.

LA Venues

Previously, the band have played at legendary Los Angeles venues like The Hotel Cafe, Harvard & Stone and Madame Siam. Their previous release ‘Eastern Misery’ was playlisted by Slay Sonics, and the music video played on Music Pills Weekly.

The Strayngers are a band with a bright future ahead of them. We are so pleased to have discovered this charismatic EP and thoroughly recommend checking it out from the link below. We very much look forward to hearing what will come next.
