Wolf & Clover – ‘Twelvemonth And A Day’
Alt-Folk band Wolf & Clover have released their stunning album, ‘Twelvemonth And A Day’ in February 2022. It is a collection of eleven tracks that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
‘The Columbus Set’ opens the album, and the addictive quality of the piece is evident from the get-go. We adore the leading hook that is catchy and will get your toes tapping!
The second track, ‘The Animal Set,’ has a gentle and delicate nature, the perfect juxtaposition to the opening song. Again, heartfelt melodies ring out, and we found ourselves mesmerized by the gorgeous tone, which is wonderfully intoxicating.
Other stand out tracks includes the haunting ‘The Unquiet Grave’, ‘The Whistle Set’ and ‘The Bedroom Set’. In addition, there are gorgeous chordal progressions and beautiful melodies throughout the album that reach out and touch the listener. ‘Twelvemonth And A Day’ is an intelligent release filled with emotional compositions.
Band Members
Wolf & Clover are comprised of six members who are all excellent in their respective fields. Band members include Jessica Bennett-French, Julian Chalon, Michelle DeBruyn, Matthew McCabe, Caroline Richards, and Chris Walton.
McCabe says about the release, “We experiment with traditional material, looking for interesting musical elements and opportunities to capitalize on and push the boundaries of the traditional Celtic style”.
Columbus State University’s (CSU) Legacy Hall
The band are holding an album release concert on March 17th at Columbus State University’s (CSU) Legacy Hall. So if you are in the area, put it in your diary!
However, you don’t have to miss out if you are miles away across the globe (like us!). The concert will be streamed on the Schwob School of Music Facebook and YouTube channels, and it will also feature on Irish Music Magazine’s social media outlets. Win win!
