ABFAB – “Wide Open Spaces”
South African pop-rock outfit ABFAB return with a track built for open highways and golden horizons. Their third single, “Wide Open Spaces,” captures the unmistakable feeling of summer in Cape Town — the kind where the windows are down, the music is loud, and the road seems endless.
A bright and punchy opening greets the listener. We adore the addictive melodies that are inviting and instantly draw the listener in. As the vocals enter they take the reins of the song. Lyrically, “Wide open Spaces” is relatable and intelligently arranged.
As the chorus drops it is instantly memorable and feels like an old friend returning each time it comes back around. In addition, the instrumentation fills the sonic spectrum with vibrant colour.
