A Floor Below – ‘My Own Sea’

U.S-based band A Floor Below has released the brilliant acoustic-rock EP  ‘My Own Sea’. It is a must-hear release this January.

‘Always Sinking’ opens the release and instantly engages the audience from the get-go. As the inviting melodies ring out, we adore the charismatic vocals and addictive vibe.

In addition, ‘No Horizon’ drives the EP forward with stunning instrumentation, an intelligent arrangement and thought-provoking lyrics. It is a track that stays with the listener long after the music has ended.

Moreover, ‘Down Sometimes’ takes the EP in a new direction with a softer feel and charming melodies. Finally, ‘Searchlight’ closes the release beautifully and brings the EP full circle. ‘My Own Sea’ is an EP that needs to be heard to be fully appreciated!

A Floor Below says about their music, “The majority of our music speaks to emotional struggles and mental health and places an emphasis on the darker (too often ignored) side of the human condition so that it can be brought to light and embraced.”

Matt Marzola

‘My Own Sea’ was recorded by A Floor Below, mixed by Revelry Studios, and mastered by Matt Marzola Music. Together the team have created an exciting release that will stand the test of time.

Band Members

Comprised of band members Joe Rheaume (vocals, guitars, bass, and drums) and Bruce Hansen (guitars, vocals, bass, and drums), A Floor Below are clearly excellent musicians, but the magic happens when they play together.

In addition, A Floor Below cites their influences as coming from unplugged sessions by Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam, Mad Season, Tool, Pink Floyd, and Breaking Benjamin. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘My Own Sea’, but make no mistake, A Floor Below is making superb music all of their own.

We can not recommend A Floor Below highly enough and eagerly anticipate what they will do next!
