A Floor Below – The Other Side Of Zero: I & II (Double LP)
With the release of The Other Side of Zero: I & II, A Floor Below presents their most personal and expansive work to date. This double LP isn’t just a collection of songs—it’s a confrontation with the quiet truths we often avoid.
The Other Side Of Zero: I, features many must-hear tracks. We adore On Broken Wings, it’s the opening song and instantly engages the listener with hauntingly beautiful melodies and an ever-evolving arrangement.
In addition, My Humanity takes the album in a fresh direction with textured instrumentation and punchy performances. It is fuelled by excellent musicianship and an addictive vibe.
Moreover, Devil Walking Me opens to a broody, enticing feel, and the magnetic melodies shine through. As the vocals drop, the thought-provoking lyrics stay with the audience long after the music has ended.
The Other Side Of Zero: II is just as compelling. Locked Up Tight opens the release to a heavier and melodic track that instantly demands the listener’s attention.
Meanwhile, Solitude is fuelled by vibrant melodies that take the listener on a journey. It is anything but predictable, with charismatic vocal performances and stunning musicianship.
Finally, The Bleeding Edge, is a standout track that features relatable lyrics with emotive performances and punchy production. It is a powerful song that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
Themes
Written in the emotional spaces between numbness and clarity, the project explores themes of depression, identity, grief, and survival without romanticising them.
Instead, it holds space. The Other Side of Zero I & II is both an offering and an exhale—a body of work for anyone who’s ever felt suspended between holding on and letting go.
Refusing to Conform
The Other Side of Zero: I & II marks a turning point for A Floor Below—not in genre, but in depth. Refusing to conform to any single label, the double LP spans raw intensity and reflective stillness, unified not by style but by truth.
Reckoning
A Floor Below doesn’t pretend to have resolutions—but in sharing their own reckoning, they remind us that being human is messy, meaningful, and deeply shared. We can not recommend these two releases highly enough.
