Aldís Fjóla – ‘Pipedreams’

Hailing from Iceland, musician Aldís Fjóla has released the must-hear EP ‘Pipedreams’. This rock release will have you reaching for the repeat button this March!

‘Wasted’ opens the release and sets the scene beautifully as to what is to come. We adore the soulful vocals, textured instrumentation and thought-provoking lyrics.

‘Burn’ is a standout song with an evolving sound and charismatic vocal performances. Likewise, ‘Rearview Mirror’ is punchy from the get-go, and we adore the intelligent arrangement.

In addition, ‘Pipedreams’ draws the listener in and holds our attention effortlessly. Moreover, ‘Crossfire’ takes the EP in a fresh direction with relatable lyrics and an addictive vibe. Finally, ‘Brenndu bryr’ closes the release and brings the EP full circle. ‘Pipedreams’ is an EP that you do not want to miss!

Aldís Fjóla says about the EP, “‘Pipedreams’ is an album I’ve always wanted to create and co-working with Stefán Örn on a grunge rock album was the best time I’ve ever had. It became a walk down memory lane about all the fantastic artists that inspired me in the 90s and going back to my roots.”

In addition, Aldís Fjóla cites her influences as coming from artists such as Skunk Anansie, Pearl Jam, No doubt and Alanis Morisette. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Pipedreams’, but make no mistake, Aldís Fjóla is making music all her own!

Aldís Fjóla is joined by musicians Stefán Örn Gunnlaugsson – Keyboards/synths/bass/Songwriter/Producer, Friðrik Jónsson – Guitar Halldór Sveinsson, Violin Kristófer and Nökkvi Sigurðsson – Drums. Together they have created a piece of art that will stand the test of time.

We are thrilled to hear ‘Pipedreams’ and can not recommend Aldís Fjóla highly enough. She is an engaged and driven artist making music that needs to be heard!
