Eric Anders and Mark O’Bitz – ‘Bardo Hauntings I: Butler Remixes’

Hailing from Northern California, Eric Anders and Mark O’Bitz are back with remixed versions of ‘Bardo Hauntings I’. It is an Americana EP that will have you reaching for the repeat button this Winter.

‘Won’t Live It Down’ opens the release and instantly draws the listener in. The vocals are filled with character, and the stoic beat provides a solid base for the track to evolve.

We adore ‘And One Love’; the textured beginning instantly engages the audience, and as the soulful vocals ring out, the lyrics are relatable and intriguing in equal measure.

In addition, ‘Bury Me’ features a gorgeous string opening with percussion and enigmatic vocals. The melodies sing out and stay with the listener long after the music has ended.

Moreover, ‘Judgement Day’ closes the release and takes the listener in a fresh direction. ‘Bardo Hauntings I: Butler Remixes’ needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.

Eric Anders says about the release, “The title, ‘Bardo Hauntings,’ is based on the idea that remixes haunt the original songs. In this case, the original songs are those of American Bardo, so these remixes are “bardo hauntings.”

He continues, “As with ghosts, the original is present and absent at the same time. A bardo is an in-between place. These remixes are in-between the genres of Americana and EDM–and yet are not fully either.”

‘Bardo Hauntings II’

Eric Anders and Mark O’Bitz are exceptionally talented artists, and it is a joy to hear this reimagining of their work. We are also thrilled to see that there is also a remix of ‘Bardo Hauntings II’ too. We can not wait to check out this release too.

So make sure you add ‘Bardo Hauntings I: Butler Remixes’ to your new music playlist this week. It is a compelling and dynamic release that needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.
