Deep Dive Species – ‘Aquaphilia’

The superb duo Deep Dive Species has released the excellent album ‘Aquaphilia’. It is a dream-pop release that needs to be added to your new music playlist this week!

‘YOLO’ opens the release with an atmospheric beginning, setting the scene as to what is to come. Next, ‘Azimuth’ is a standout song with enticing synths, a stoic rhythm section and a welcoming vibe.

In addition, we enjoyed ‘Beach Runes’. From the jangly guitar to the lusciously layered instrumentation; it is a track that takes the listener on a journey.

Moreover, ‘In the Azure Sea’ takes the album in a new direction with darting synths and ever-evolving instrumentation. We adore the intelligent arrangement that keeps the listener on their toes. Also, ‘The Eye of a Hurricane is a must-hear track that fills the sonic spectrum with vivid colour.

‘Aquaphilia’ was written and produced by Deep Dive Species and mastered by Bill Sellar at Super Audio Mastering. Together, the team have created a body of work that will stand the test of time. It is an album that sets Deep Dive Species as a group pushing boundaries this Autumn of 2022.

Comments

The band commented, “Deep Dive Species were formed during (and basically because of) the 2020 lockdown in New York. One part of the duo is Vadim Militsin, an electronic scene veteran who stands behind numerous projects like AUTiSM, Logica Abstracta and Robotov-Millentrop.”

They continue, “The other component of this unlikely mixture is Sergey Popovich, a guitarist and vocalist with a string of projects, like Vopli Vodoplyasova, famous in and beyond his native Ukraine.”

Duo

One thing is for sure, Deep Dive Species are a duo on the rise in 2022. They are making innovative and exciting music that needs to be heard to be fully appreciated.
