Double Comfort Safari – ‘Double Comfort Safari’
Hailing from South Africa, musician Double Comfort Safari has released the stunning self-titled EP in August 2022. It is an indie-pop release that needs to be heard this Autumn!
‘Need my friends’ opens the release with an upbeat and inviting song with deeply relatable lyrics. We adore the groove, which soon establishes itself. As the vocals take the reins of the music, the infectious nature of the track breaks through.
Double Comfort Safari says about the opening track, “‘Need your friends’ is an honest admittance that we all have issues and we need to be honest enough to ask for help when we feel stuck.”
He continues, “It was written in the height of the global Covid pandemic where we were forced to isolate and had too much time alone with our own thoughts, and some sense had to face our own demons.”
‘Haven’t you heard’
The second track, ‘Haven’t you heard’, is a layered and textured song with memorable melodies and stunning vocal performances. Again, double Comfort Safari knows how to reach out and touch his audience and ‘Haven’t you heard’ is a vibrant song that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
Influences
Double Comfort Safari cites his influences as coming from bands and artists such as The Beatles, Paul Simon, Bob Marley, Radiohead, and Blur. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Double Comfort Safari’, but Double Comfort Safari is making music all of his own.
