Fragile Creatures – ‘Play Both Sides’

Hailing from Brighton, Fragile Creatures has released the must-hear album, ‘Play Both Sides’. It is an alternative rock release that needs to be on your new release playlist this April.

The title track opens the release and slowly enters the sonic spectrum. We adore the instantly engaging vocals that take the reins of the track. As the song evolves, the instrumentation builds, taking the listener on a journey.

In addition, ‘Bad Smell’ is a standout release fuelled by an intelligent arrangement, addictive melodies and vibrant instrumentation. Also, ‘Grandaddy’ is complete with thought-provoking lyrics and emotive performances.

Moreover, ‘Mary’ features punchy production with addictive riffs that stay with the listener long after the music has ended. ‘Entitled To Love’ is a classic song in the making with relatable lyrics and magnetic instrumentation.

Finally, ‘Frozen’ closes the release, taking the album in a fresh direction. One thing is for sure, ‘Play Both Sides’ is an album that will stand the test of time.

Comments

Fragile Creatures says about the release, “These days have seen a rise in self-centred individualism, making people act for our self-interest when collective action would be more effective for the greater good.”

They continue, “However, the album tries its best not to dwell on negativity; there’s optimism at play throughout.”

Band Members

Fragile Creatures is comprised of band members Adam Kidd (vocals, guitar, songwriting, production), Aaron Neville (keyboard, vocals), Tom Alty (lead guitar), James Crump (drums) and Adam Whittles (bass). They are excellent musicians in their respective fields, but when they play together, magic happens.

Influences

The band cites their influences as coming from bands/artists such as Pink Floyd, Al Green, Blur, Radiohead, and David Bowie. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Play Both Sides’ but make no mistakes. Fragile Creatures have developed a distinct sound all of their own.

YouTube Live

There are also live sessions of the album tracks available now on YouTube. You can watch the songs live from the rehearsal room here.

Innovative

We are thrilled to have heard ‘Play Both Sides’ and can not wait to listen to what Fragile Creatures will do next. They are an exciting band that continuously pushes boundaries and drives the alternative rock genre forward.
