Houston Ayre – ‘The Antonym Paradox’
We are thrilled to see that the outstanding musician Houston Ayre is back! His 6th studio album, ‘The Antonym Paradox’, explores themes of space exploration and concepts of the afterlife, and we can not recommend it highly enough!
‘Ostinato Moderato’ opens the release, and the melodies instantly draw the listener in. We adore the captivating instrumentation that immediately injects the piece with vivid colour.
Instantly, ‘Alternating Currents’ takes the album in a fresh direction. The superb musicianship shines through while the intelligent arrangement keeps the listener on their toes.
In addition, ‘Over the Apparent Horizon’ is our favourite track on the release. The melodies are uplifting and dynamic, and as the stoic beat kicks in, the track takes unexpected twists and turns.
Moreover, ‘Rogue Planet’ is filled with unanticipated melodies that feel refreshing and cautiously welcoming. Finally, ‘Sagittarius A*’ closes the release with beautiful magnetic melodies and a fantastic, driving evolution.

Ayre says about the release, “Over the last three years, I believe I have improved my recording and production techniques, and this album reflects the best of my work in that area to date.”
He continues, “I specifically wanted to introduce more riff-based guitar work in this album and tracks’ Over the Apparent Horizon’, ‘Across the Einstein-Rosen Bridge’ and ‘Rogue Planet’ reflect that. The virtual journey through this album reaches its crescendo with Sagittarius A* – the centre of our galaxy.”
Evolution
Houston Ayre is an FVMusicBlog favourite artist for a reason. He is a troubadour continually evolving his sound and making music that takes the listener by the hand and leads them on a thrilling journey.
