Jackson Watson – ‘Numb’

Hailing from Alabama, Jackson Watson has released the excellent indie-pop album ‘Numb’. It is a must-hear release that needs to be added to your new music playlist this week.

‘Let’s Surf’ opens the release and instantly draws the listener in. We adore the warm, punchy production that sets the track alight. Then, as Watson’s soulful vocals enter, the listener is entranced.

In addition, ‘Feels Like Yesterday’ is a standout song. We love the gorgeous guitars and stoic rhythm section that lay the solid foundations for Watson’s wonderful vocals to shine.

Moreover, ‘Dragonfruit’ takes the album in a fresh direction, keeping the listener on their toes. The memorable melodies ring out, and the relatable lyrics touch the audience.

We adore ‘Get Better’; it has a punchy vibe that is instantly affecting. The stunning instrumentation is filled with a luscious texture too. Finally, ‘Silver’ closes the release, and it will have you reaching for the repeat button.

Jackson Watson cites his influences as coming from artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Bruno Mars, Tame Impala, and Ohio Players. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Numb’, but Watson stands shoulder to shoulder with any of these artists.

Jackson Watson says about the release, “Love will make you go crazy to the point where you lose yourself. It’s always good to take a step back and realize what point you’re at in life. Going numb to who you truly are—or thought you were—isn’t something to become comfortable with. Fix the issues and better yourself for you, not for anyone else.”

In addition, Jackson Watson is a hard-working and exciting artist. After hearing ‘Numb’, we can not wait to check out Watson’s back catalogue too.

So please make a note of the name Jackson Watson; it might be the first time you have heard it, but we are sure it will not be the last. He is an exciting talent destined for big things in 2023.
