Deering says about his music, ‘Thirty years ago I sat down to write my first song. Then, real life struck – career, wife kids – and songwriting faded into the background. Four years ago, the itch that had never left was now like a cramp that couldn’t be ignored.”

He continues, “I wrote and recorded an album’s worth of original songs, singing all of the parts and playing all of the instruments except the drums. ‘Strip Mall Jesus’ hits hard and represents a release of years of pent-up creative tension.”
