Mr.Wizard – ‘I Know I Don’t Know’

Hailing from Pittsburgh, Mr.Wizard has released the excellent EP ‘I Know I Don’t Know’. It is an alt-rock release that you need to hear this Autumn 2022.

‘I Don’t Want To Think About It’ opens the EP to a big, imposing sound that demands the listener’s attention. The extensive guitars inject a luscious colour into the piece, and the vocals shine at the forefront of the mix.

‘Wait and See’ is a catchy and memorable song that is filled with charismatic vocals, stunning riffs and a punchy rhythm section. Also, ‘By The Sound Of It’ is a driving and dynamic track with relatable lyrics.

In addition, ‘Make it Alone’ takes the EP in a new direction with a darker sound but equally infectious nature. Finally, ‘Greener’ closes the release, leaving the listener wanting more!

Influences

Mr.Wizard cites his influences as coming from artists such as RHCP, Weezer, Blink-182, and Modest Mouse. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘I Know I Don’t Know’, but Mr.Wizard is making music all his own!

Mr.Wizard says about the process of making the EP, “Whenever I work on a project, I like to focus on a fictitious situation and then immerse myself in that and use that to draw my lyrics.”

He continues, “With this project, it was about a sick man, accomplished and well respected but when faced with his own mortality urgently trying to establish his legacy.”
