Ourida – ‘Wings’

Brooklyn-based musician Ourida released the brilliant album ‘Wings’ in June 2022. It is an art-rock release that is filled with a lot of heart.

‘Blues’ opens the release and sets the scene beautifully as to what is to come. Ourida’s rich and soulful vocals shine out, charming the listener instantly.

‘Deux Guitares’ is a standout song with punchy percussion, beautiful guitars and Ourida’s trademark superb vocals. We adore the string arrangement and engaging vibe.

‘G Train’ is a textured song with unexpected chordal progressions and melodic bass. In addition, ‘Joker’ takes the album in a new direction with gorgeously played piano and thriving instrumentation. Finally, ‘Home’ closes the release and leaves the listener reaching for the repeat button!

We adore the mix, production and master of ‘Wings’; every part of the layered instrumentation has its own space in the mix and shines bright. Ourida is an artist who is on the rise in 2022.

Ourida says about the release, “‘Wings’ is an indie pop/art-rock/alternative album of sensual songs full of imagery about multicultural life and women’s freedom of expression, mixing folk-rock melodies and jazz groove with a touch of world music.”

Musicians on the album include Ourida, Jonathan Levy, and Joe Hertenstein. In addition, Wings’ has been superbly produced by Eli Crews and Ourida and mastered by Jon Cohrs at Bear Call Mastering in Woodstock. Together the team have created a body of work that will stand the test of time.

Ourida is an exceptional artist making exciting and relevant music that needs to be heard. She is a leading light in her genre, and we can not wait to listen to what she will do next.
