Safari Room – ‘Complex House Plants’
An FVMusicBlog favourite band is back! Nashville-based band Safari Room have released their brilliant album ‘Complex House Plants’ in May 2022. It is an indie-pop release that you need to know about this Summer!
‘Small Victories’ opens the release to punchy drums, melodic guitars and charming vocals. We adore the groove that establishes itself and sets the scene for what is to come.
‘It Just Takes Time’ is an upbeat, infectious song that demands the listener’s attention. We adore the unpredictable twists and turns to the track, which has been intelligently composed and arranged.
‘Violet’ is a standout song that evolves before the audience. We love the memorable melodies and relatable lyrics. In addition, ‘Speak Slower’ slowly builds tension before erupting into an indie-pop classic. Finally, ‘Myths’ is a gentle closing to a fantastic body of work.
Safari Room say about the release, “The album was recorded over the first half of 2021 in response to months of isolation and a goal to expand on the sound of the band’s debut album, ‘Look Me Up When You Get There.'”
They continue, “‘Complex House Plants’ is about coming together despite all odds. This album was revitalizing to create after a year of stasis and separation, and we hope that it can do the same for our fans and listeners.”
This excellent album was recorded in Goodlettesville, TN, at Schematic Studio and produced by Cole Yepsen and Safari Room. In addition, ‘Complex House Plants’ was mixed by Collin Pastore (producer for Lucy Dacus) and mastered by Preston Cochran (engineer for Lucy Dacus/owner of Trace Horse Studios). Together the team have done an excellent job in creating a piece of art that will stand the test of time.
So make sure you add ‘Complex House Plants’ to your new music playlist. Safari Room is a group of superb musicians releasing intelligent songs, and we feel ‘Complex House Plants’ could give the band their big break.
