SONÁ – ‘Fighting Demons To Love’
London-based artist SONÁ has released the must-hear EP ‘Fighting Demons To Love’. It is a folk-pop release that needs to be added to your new music playlist this week.
‘Calling’ opens the release with attention-demanding guitars and subtle percussion, and as SONÁ’s charismatic vocals enter, they demand the listener’s attention. Then, the audience is taken on a journey as the track evolves.
‘To Trust Again’ is a standout song with dreamy guitars, soulful vocals and excellent storytelling. Moreover, as the song progresses, the affecting melodies resonate with the listener. Also, ‘The Road Again’ is an emotional song with stunning lyrics.
‘Prey to Soldier’ hears character-filled guitars, brooding backing instrumentation and addictive vocal performances. Finally, ‘Changes’ closes the EP and will have you reaching for the repeat button.
After quitting his successful legal job, SONÁ has spent four years making this stunning EP. He says about the release, “This is the work reflecting on a passionate, dangerous relationship, and on the subsequent lessons to come from that… of the need to find and repair ourselves to be able to truly love another.”
‘Fighting Demons To Love’ has been superbly recorded by Colin Lann at Cable Studios in East London. Together the team have crafted an EP that will stand the test of time.
SONÁ cites his influences as coming from artists such as Ben Howard, Ry X, Damien Rice, and Daughter. We can hear these muses coming through on ‘Fighting Demons To Love’ but make no mistake, SONÁ stands shoulder to shoulder with any of these artists.
SONÁ (AKA Aaron Ray) is an exciting talent who is making must-hear, and addictive music. We adore the unique style that sets him apart from the crowd. We cannot recommend ‘Fighting Demons To Love’ highly enough!
