The Dead Blues Club – ‘Vol. 1’

The Dead Blues Club is a magnificent artist originally from the UK and now living in Kanazawa, Japan. His album ‘Vol. 1’ is a blues-rock release that will have you reaching for the repeat button this Summer 2022.

‘Bloody Ada’ opens the release to an atmospheric beginning that soon evolves into a smooth and inviting track that effortlessly takes the listener by the hand on a brilliant sonic exploration.

‘Party Tricks’ is a standout song with textured guitars, charismatic vocals and intelligent chordal progressions. In addition, ‘Cosmonaut’ takes the album in a fresh direction, keeping the listener on their toes. The layered vocals are wonderfully affecting and addictive.

Finally, ‘You On The Run’ closes the release with a vibe on the album we have not experienced before. Is it leaving off where ‘Vol. 2’ will pick up? We can not wait to find out!

The Dead Blues Club say about the release, “The music process is inspired by Scott Weiland’s debut solo album. Similarly, it is used to express the chaos and the pain of personal trauma, consumption, loss and disassociation with the world.”

Sam Bollands / Kenny Thompson

The Dead Blues Club (AKA Richard Gray) is the guitarist, singer and frontman of the band Devious Dogs. Gray is joined by musicians Sam Bollands, (adding additional keys on selected tracks) and Kenny Thompson (drummer on ‘The Bridge’ and ‘Cosmonaut’) on this superb release, and Gray has created a piece of art that will stand the test of time.

Must-Hear Release

Released on Devious Records, ‘Vol. 1’ is a must-hear release. It is filled with luscious textures and addictive riffs that stay with the listener long after the music has ended. The Dead Blues Club is leading the blues-rock genre forward in 2022, and we can not wait to hear what he will do next.

Until then, ‘Vol. 1’ is available to stream from the link below today; enjoy!
