To Hell With Tradition – ‘Blurred’
Hailing from Heidelberg, musician To Hell With Tradition has released the must-hear album ‘Blurred’. It is a compelling indie-pop release that you need to know about this Autumn.
‘Drover’ opens the release with stripped-back instrumentation that lets the excellent songwriting shine through. We adore ‘Monuments’; the compelling lyrics, charismatic vocals and stunning melodies shine at the heart of the track. As the full band enters, the sonic spectrum is injected with luscious colour.
In addition, ‘The Baton’ is a gorgeous track with lyrics that resonate with the audience. The fantastic synths feel like the song’s heartbeat, and the stoic rhythm section creates a solid foundation for the vocals to shine.
Moreover, ‘Ghosts’ takes the album in a fresh direction with an unsettling opening that keeps the listener on their toes. Soon a memorable chorus emerges, and it will have you reaching for the repeat button. Finally, ‘Fences’ closes the release and completes the album beautifully.
Comments
To Hell With Tradition comments on choosing singles from the album, “It was tough for me to release two singles from the album separately in advance since this is a genuine concept album – many of the songs even have seamless transitions.” This adds to the release’s rich tapestry.
Album
‘Blurred’ is one reason we know the full album will never die. The individual songs culminate to create a larger body of work that benefits from being listened to from beginning to end with no breaks. It is a concept album that takes the listener on a journey; each song is an integral part of the jigsaw.
So make sure that you add ‘Blurred’ to your new music playlist this week. It is a full album release that is simply brilliant. Its intelligent construction and evolving sound have been superbly executed, and we can not wait to hear more from To Hell With Tradition in 2023.
