We have been completely blown away by the latest collaborative project from wav-Dr and Bonnie Legion. ‘Wav-Legion ll’ is awe-inspiring and a thoroughly innovative listen, which is unparalleled to anything we have heard recently. 

‘Escape the Mundane – Miss Efemby’ is the opening track and it stands the listener in good stead as to what is to come. We hear a thumping kick drum to begin with which feels like the heartbeat to the album and this is felt throughout the forthcoming tracks too. We adored the album as a whole but if we had to pick we would choose our favourites to be, ‘Fear of Flying’ for its flamenco style, ‘Money Time Life’ for its beautiful vocal battle between the male and female vocals. We also loved, ‘Directions’ for the layered building vocals and, ‘Missing It’ for the expertly played, atmospheric and melodic guitar work.

There is no denying the talent and skill which is apparent in each of the songs composition, production and mastering on this album. Each song has its own character to be devoured and all of the instrumentation has its own space in the mix.

The two vocals are wonderfully engaging and compliment each other. Bonnie Legion’s voice is beautiful and hugely accessible, it is reminiscent of Madonna and Lady Gaga. Wav-Dr’s voice is gruff and character filled and the two voices are at opposite ends of the vocal spectrum. However, this juxtaposition makes for a unique and satisfying sound which will have you reaching for the repeat button.

The 16 track album is filled with classic songs from beginning to end. It is filled with rich harmonies, varying tempos and catchy tunes galore. This substantial body of work is thoroughly engaging and excellent quality from beginning to end. We sure hope their prolific writing continues into the future, we can not wait to hear what comes next from such talented artists.

Wav-Legion is a collaborative fusion music project created by Canadian Producer/Musician/Singer/Songwriter wav-Dr.  and California Musician/Singer-Songwriter Bonnie Legion. Together they have created a magnificent piece of work in ‘Wav-Legion II’ and this is music which needs to be heard.
