Yana – ‘Funeral of Life’

You know it is going to be a good day when you see that there is a new release from Czech Republic-based artist, Yana. Her single ‘Funeral of Life’ is an indie-folk classic in the making!

Wonderful guitars open the piece; they dance around one another, always complimenting each other. Next, Yana’s unmistakable vocals enter and take the reins of the song.

We love the lyrics, which are thought-provoking and profoundly affecting. In addition, the instrumentation sections weave their way in and out of the piece creating texture and depth within the composition.

It is a short song, just 2:08 in total, but it leaves a lasting impression upon the listener. Yana has the ability to reach out and touch her audience, and ‘Funeral of Life’ is a song that does just that!

Yana says about the new release, “Lockdowns were tough for everybody, the creative industry suffered immensely, yet the situation made us reflect and not take even the smallest things for granted.”

She continues, “The title may sound like a desperately sad piece. Quite the opposite. I hope its message will inspire the listeners. There are things in life we cannot predict, but even the worst times don’t last forever.”
