Aetev – ‘Viscosity’
Hailing from Austin, songwriter, producer and engineer Aetev has released his debut single ‘Viscosity’ today, 4th December 2020. It is a magnificent electronic-pop introduction to a brilliant artist!
From the get-go, ‘Viscosity’ is engaging and draws the listener in. As the beat drops, the single is in full flow. Also the passionate and layered vocals are thoroughly engaging throughout.
We adore the textured and layered backing instrumentation. ‘Viscosity’ has been intelligently arranged and composed, filling the sonic spectrum with gorgeous synths and a gritty realness.
In addition, Aetev has teamed up with Michelle Soto (of the indie band Blushing) on the single. Together, the duo has created a song which will stand the test of time. We hope another collaboration is on the cards in the future.
Aetev says about the release, “The track is brimming with moody dreaminess grounded by a ferocious backbeat and dealing with the subject of watching someone slip away from addiction.” Profoundly affecting Aetev touches the listener with this release.
Influences
Aetev cites his influences as coming from new wave, hip hop, indie and electronic music. These can be heard on ‘Viscosity’ but make no mistake, Aetev has his own innovative and formidable style.
Aetev (AKA Slade McBride) is a talented musician who is set to do big things in the 2020s. We are so excited to listen to his debut release and very much look forward to hearing what he will do next. He is a driving and enigmatic artist who needs to be heard!
