ALL1 – ‘Just Smile’
ALL1 is a brilliant artist hailing from Austria, Vienna. Her debut single ‘Just Smile’ is a commercial pop classic in the making.
ALL1’s soulful vocals open the release. The joyous and upbeat nature of the single is evident from the get-go. We love the backing instrumentation which adds further depth to the piece. The layered instrumentation is well balanced and is filled with a luscious texture too.
Lyrically, ‘Just Smile’ covers a positive message which we could all do with hearing after a taxing year. In addition, the main melody stays with the listener long after the music has ended, and we are sure that ALL1 will have you reaching for the repeat button. We are confident that ALL1 will win an army of new fans with this release.
When asked what the single is about, ALL1 says, “2020, the divide in mentality the pandemic has brought and to bridge and one who is struggling to see a positive in the current situation.” This is a topic that we can all relate to at the moment. We believe that this is a big part of ALL1’s charm; she connects to her audience and lets us feel less alone together.
Self-taught
ALL1 does not have any formal music training. She is self-taught, and this gives an honest and genuine quality to the music. In March she found herself furloughed and ‘Just Smile’ grew from there. She started writing the single in London and finished the process in Venice.
