David J – ‘Prom King’
‘Prom King’ is the second single to be released by the magnificent Los Angeles based artist David J. It is an indie-pop single with a big heart.
From a textured beginning, the luscious beat breaks through. We adore David J’s vocal performance. His voice is filled with warmth and instantly charms the audience.
The melodies are intoxicating and ‘Prom King’ is a song which will have the listener reaching for the repeat button. Also, the chordal progression is unpredictable, and this is a wonderful addition to the song. David J takes the listener on a journey with ‘Prom King’, and it is a song which needs to be heard!
David J says about the release, “This track is to provide people like myself, who did not get to experience the whole picture-perfect high school prom, or just nervous to ask somebody out, a connection to let them know that I have been in similar, if not the same, situations.” He continues, “It’s a part of my journey that I’d like to share, and hopefully, others would relate as well, or just put it on when you’re driving down the road and have a good time.”

In addition, Dave Haskett (Shawn Mendes tour bassist) plays bass on the single and the team have done an excellent job in creating a wonderful song that needs to be heard.
‘Prom King’ was released officially on 20th September. This date coincides with David J’s birthday (Happy Birthday!). We have been fans of David J since the release of his debut single, ‘A Little Too Much’ and ‘Prom King’ continues in the strong songwriting vein.
