Emily Hackett – ‘Can’t Help Myself’ (feat. Hardcastle)
Hailing from Nashville, musician Emily Hackett has released the stunning single ‘Can’t Help Myself’ (feat. Hardcastle) in October 2020.
A gorgeously picked acoustic guitar opens the release. We adore Hackett’s vocal performance. Her tone is filled with a luscious vibe, and effortlessly guides the song along. Lyrically, Hackett connects with her audience, and this is a big part of her appeal. She lets us feel less alone together.
‘Can’t Help Myself’ evolves before the listener and by the second verse, a full band sound has broken through. There is wonderful texture in the backing instrumentation that keeps the single feeling fresh and exciting. The chorus is catchy and stays with the listener long after the music has ended.
Previously, Hackett was named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2019. She is in good company as this accolade has launched the careers of artists such as luminaries like Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris.
Emily Hackett grew up just outside Atlanta, and her father is a former rock critic. She has a degree from Belmont University and soon after graduating had her breakthrough with a song called ‘Take My Hand (The Wedding Song)’ a 2014 ballad she wrote specifically for a friend’s wedding. After the single’s release it shot up the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart to number four, and she has not looked back since.
We can not recommend Emily Hackett highly enough. She is an artist who is on the up and one to watch in 2020. So make sure to add ‘Can’t Help Myself’ (feat. Hardcastle) to your weekday playlist. Emily Hackett is just getting started, and we very much look forward to hearing what will come next.
