Ewan Patrick – ‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ / ‘Two Hearts’ AA Side

Edinburgh-based artist Ewan Patrick has released the excellent double A-side singles ‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ / ‘Two Hearts’ this February 2021. They are great indie-rock releases which need to be heard to be fully appreciated.

‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ is filled with character and colour from the beginning. We adore the evolution of the song before the listener. The catchy melodies and layered instrumentation makes for a single which effortlessly compels the listener.

‘Two Hearts’ opens to a solo acoustic guitar. Patrick’s soulful vocals enter, and the heartfelt lyrics shine through. It is a deeply relatable song which connects Ewan Patrick with the audience. It is simply a wonderful composition.

Ewan Patrick says about the releases, “‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ is a narrative song, starting with the protagonist in quiet introspection. The song then explodes (around 1min 10s) with a sense of optimism and hope for the future.”

He continues, “I stumbled upon ‘Two Hearts’ while writing my wedding speech, not for a minute trying to contrive a love song for my future wife but it just kind of happened.”

Patrick cites his influences as coming from artists such as The National, Frightened Rabbit, Band of Horses, Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Neil Young. We can hear these musicians coming through on ‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ / ‘Two Hearts, but make no mistake, Ewan Patrick is making music all of his own.

‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ / ‘Two Hearts’ have been written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Ewan Patrick. He is an artist who is multi-skilled and is pushing boundaries with these releases.

We are so thrilled to have discovered Ewan Patrick and very much look forward to hearing what he will do next in 2021.
